About Renal Diet
Renal Diet is an iPhone app and reference website for people who count potassium, phosphorus, sodium, protein and fluid. It is published by Phi Truong Nguyen.
What it is
An offline food log built on USDA FoodData Central (7,332 foods, Foundation Foods 2026-04-30 and SR Legacy 2018-04). Every value carries its source. This website publishes the same reference values for 155 common foods so you can check numbers before you install anything.
What it is not
- It is not medical advice, a diet plan, or a replacement for your nephrologist or dietitian.
- It does not choose limits for you. You enter the limits your care team gave you.
- It does not read barcodes or recognize photos, and it does not need an account.
How we handle sources
Numbers come from USDA. Thresholds come from named publications, labeled as theirs. If a source gives no number, we say so instead of inventing one. The full list is on the sources page.
