Privacy policy

Last updated 2026-10-11. This policy covers the Renal Diet website (renaldiet.app) and the Renal Diet iPhone app. The seller and the person responsible for your data is Phi Truong Nguyen, an individual. To reach us, email privacy@renaldiet.app.

The website

  • The website itself sets no cookies and loads no analytics until you opt in. If analytics are configured for the site, a banner asks first. Nothing is loaded or stored until you click Accept, and Decline is fully supported.
  • If you accept, we use PostHog to count page views and clicks on the app button. Autocapture and session recording are off. No food searches, filter text or health values are collected. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, and you can change it from the "Analytics choice" link in the footer.
  • The website is served as static files. Like any web host, the hosting provider processes ordinary request data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the service.
  • The food filter on food tables runs in your browser. What you type is not sent anywhere.
  • Links to USDA, the National Kidney Foundation and other sites leave this website; their privacy practices apply there.

The iPhone app

  • There is no account. You do not give us a name or email address to use the app.
  • Your meals, custom foods, favorites, personal limits and fluid entries are kept on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers.
  • The app uses anonymous product analytics to learn which features are used. These events never include food names, your limits or health values. You can switch usage statistics off in the app's settings.
  • Purchases are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and the purchase information needed to unlock premium features.
  • If you export a PDF report, it is created on your device and you choose where to share it.

When you email us

If you write to support@renaldiet.app or privacy@renaldiet.app (a shared mailbox), we receive your email address and message, and use them only to reply and to improve the product. Please do not send health information you do not want to share.

Your choices

You can decline website analytics, switch off usage statistics in the app, and delete the app to remove its on-device data. For any request about your information, such as access or deletion of emails you sent us, contact us by email at privacy@renaldiet.app and we will respond. We do not sell personal information.

Track your own numbers against your own limits

Renal Diet adds up potassium, phosphorus, sodium, protein and fluid from an offline USDA food database, with the source on every value. No account, no scanner. You enter the limits your care team gave you, and "Can I eat this?" shows a traffic light against what is left today. A PDF report is there for your dietitian. Free to start; some features may need an optional premium subscription.

Values are USDA reference values for a standard serving. Your limits are set by your nephrologist or dietitian. Processed foods and phosphorus additives may differ. This is not medical advice.
