Terms of use

Last updated 2026-10-11. These terms are between you and Phi Truong Nguyen, an individual, who publishes the Renal Diet website and app. By using them you agree to these terms.

Informational tool, not medical advice

Values are USDA reference values for a standard serving. Your limits are set by your nephrologist or dietitian. Processed foods and phosphorus additives may differ. This is not medical advice.

Renal Diet and this website are informational tools. They do not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and nothing here replaces advice from your nephrologist, physician or registered dietitian. Do not ignore or delay professional advice because of something you read here. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

Your limits are yours

The app adds up what you log against limits that you or your care team enter. Renal Diet does not choose those limits for you. You are responsible for entering them correctly.

Data and accuracy

Food values come from USDA FoodData Central and are reference values for a generic food and a standard serving. Brands, recipes, preparation and phosphorus additives can change real values, so check product labels. We work to reproduce USDA data accurately, but we give no warranty that it is complete, current or error-free. See sources.

Use of the website

You may read and link to this website. Please do not copy it in bulk or misrepresent it. The underlying USDA data are public domain (CC0); our text, design and software are not.

Subscriptions

Optional premium features, if offered, are sold through Apple's App Store as auto-renewing subscriptions. Prices, trials and renewal terms are shown in the App Store before you buy, and you manage or cancel them in your Apple account settings.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Phi Truong Nguyen is not liable for decisions made using the website or app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable law.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws that apply where the seller resides, except where your local consumer law gives you rights that cannot be waived. For any dispute, please first contact us by email so we can try to resolve it.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the website or app after a change means you accept it.

Track your own numbers against your own limits

Renal Diet adds up potassium, phosphorus, sodium, protein and fluid from an offline USDA food database, with the source on every value. No account, no scanner. You enter the limits your care team gave you, and "Can I eat this?" shows a traffic light against what is left today. A PDF report is there for your dietitian. Free to start; some features may need an optional premium subscription.
